Primera División RFEF - Play Offs

The Primera Federación play-offs form the promotion knockout stage of Spain's third tier, a division created in 2021 when the old Segunda División B was reorganised into the current Primera Federación and Segunda Federación structure. The league is split into two groups, and while each group's winner is promoted automatically to Segunda División, the clubs placed second through fifth in each group enter a two-legged knockout play-off. The two winners of these mini-tournaments secure the remaining promotion places, giving clubs just outside the automatic spots a genuine route into Spain's second tier. Rewarding consistency across a long regular season while still leaving room for late drama, these ties are often tense, high-stakes affairs with significant rewards for the clubs involved.
