UEFA U19 Championship - Women

The UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship is the continent's top international competition for young women's national teams, evolving from an Under-18 event first held in the late 1990s into its current Under-19 format from the 2001-02 season. Qualifying rounds narrow the entrants down to a finals tournament of eight teams, split into two groups of four, with the group winners and runners-up advancing to semi-finals and a final. Traditional footballing powers such as Germany, France and Spain have been consistent finalists and champions at this level, reflecting their strong youth development systems. Beyond the trophy itself, the championship is a key proving ground for players on the verge of full international recognition, and in odd-numbered years it doubles as Europe's qualification route to the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
