Super League

The Uzbekistan Super League is the country's top football division, founded in 1992 after independence as the domestic championship separated from the old Soviet system, and rebranded under its current name in 2018. Clubs compete in a single table over a home-and-away season to determine the champion. Pakhtakor Tashkent stands as the league's record champion with sixteen domestic titles, including a run of six in a row during the 2000s, making it comfortably the most decorated club in Uzbek football history. Pakhtakor was also the only Uzbek club to have played in the Soviet top flight before independence, and it went on to set a regional record for consecutive AFC Champions League appearances, underlining its role as the country's flagship club.
