UEFA Championship - Women

The UEFA Women's Championship is the top international tournament for European women's national teams, first held in 1984 and expanded to a 16-team, month-long event from 2022 onward. Held every four years and organised by UEFA, the tournament has become one of the highest-profile events in women's sport, with the 2022 edition in England setting new attendance and viewership records as the hosts won on home soil. Germany are the most successful nation by a wide margin with eight titles, reflecting their long-standing dominance of the women's game in Europe, though recent editions have shown the gap to the rest of the continent narrowing sharply. The tournament has become a key driver of investment and participation growth in women's football across Europe.
