Cup

The Czech Cup is the country's main knockout competition and runs alongside the league system each season with entries from clubs across the Czech football pyramid. The format follows the familiar single-elimination pattern used across European football, with smaller regional and lower-league clubs entering in the early rounds and top-flight sides joining later, creating regular opportunities for upsets. Sparta Prague and Slavia Prague again feature prominently among the competition's most successful clubs, extending their broader dominance of Czech football into the cup as well. Winning the trophy carries qualification into European competition, giving smaller clubs a realistic, if rare, path to continental football that bypasses a strong league campaign.
