K League 1 is South Korea's top football division and, having launched in 1983, is widely regarded as the oldest professional football league in Asia. The season is split into two phases: an opening round in which all clubs play each other, followed by a split into championship and relegation groups that decide the title and relegation places. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Seongnam rank among the competition's most decorated clubs, both former continental champions. South Korean clubs collectively hold more Asian Champions League titles than those of any other country, a reflection of the K League's strength relative to its neighbours. The league is also credited with pioneering professional football administration across East Asia in the 1980s. Follow live scores, fixtures, results, standings and statistics for the competition, updated in real time.
