Segunda Liga, now officially known as Liga Portugal 2, is the second tier of Portuguese football, sitting directly below the Primeira Liga. It is contested over a full home-and-away season by a group of clubs that includes not only traditional senior sides but also reserve teams of several top-flight clubs, a distinctive feature of the Portuguese pyramid. At the end of the season, the top two clubs earn promotion to the Primeira Liga, while the lowest-placed teams are relegated. The division has long served as a proving ground for young Portuguese talent and a stepping stone for clubs aiming to reach the top flight. Follow live scores, fixtures, results, standings and statistics for the competition, updated in real time.
