Super Cup

The Crimean Super Cup is the traditional season-opening fixture of football on the Crimean peninsula, bringing together the winners of the regional Premier League and the Crimean Cup in a single match. Following the model of super cups around the world, it serves as the curtain-raiser for the new local season, with the league runner-up or cup finalist stepping in when one club has completed a domestic double. The match gives the peninsula's leading clubs an early piece of silverware to contest and marks the start of the regional football calendar each year.
