UEFA Super Cup

The UEFA Super Cup is a single match played at the start of each European club season between the reigning Champions League winner and the reigning Europa League winner, deciding which of the two is Europe's dominant club side. First played in 1972 and formalised as an annual fixture from 1973, the game was originally split into home-and-away legs before settling into its current one-off final format at a neutral venue. Real Madrid and Barcelona share the record for the most Super Cup wins among a list of winners that reads like a who's who of European football. Though it carries less prestige than the two competitions that produce its finalists, the Super Cup gives fans an early-season measuring stick and a rare chance to see the continent's two form sides go head-to-head. Follow live scores, fixtures, results, standings and statistics for the competition, updated in real time.
