Afrika kubogi (ayollar)

The Women's Africa Cup of Nations, widely known as WAFCON, is the continental championship for African women's national teams, organized by the Confederation of African Football and one of the longer-established women's international competitions outside Europe. The tournament follows a group stage before moving into knockout rounds that decide the champion, with the number of qualified teams having expanded over the years as the women's game has grown across the continent. Nigeria have been overwhelmingly the dominant nation in the competition's history, winning the title far more often than any other African country and rarely finishing outside the podium. Strong results at WAFCON have also become an important route to qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup, raising the tournament's stakes well beyond continental bragging rights.
