Belarus kubogi

The Belarusian Cup is the national knockout competition of Belarusian football, first contested in 1992 following the country's independence. Open to clubs from across the football pyramid, it runs on a straight knockout basis leading to a single final. Historically, winning the Belarusian Cup has earned the champions qualification for European competition, giving the tournament extra significance beyond domestic bragging rights. BATE Borisov are among the competition's most successful clubs, reflecting their broader dominance of Belarusian football during their years as the country's leading side. As with most national cups, the competition gives smaller clubs a rare chance to test themselves against the biggest names in the domestic game.
