The Scottish Cup is the national knockout competition of Scottish football and the oldest trophy of its kind in the sport, first contested in the 1873-74 season. Open to clubs from across the country's football pyramid, it runs on a straight knockout basis from the early rounds through to the final. Celtic hold the record for the most Scottish Cup triumphs in the competition's long history. Like many historic national cups, the Scottish Cup carries a strong tradition of giant-killing, with lower-league and junior clubs occasionally knocking out top-flight opposition in memorable upsets. Its long heritage and open format make it one of the most cherished competitions in Scottish football. Follow live scores, fixtures, results, standings and statistics for the competition, updated in real time.
